This week Hala Gores and William Seaman welcome New York University Professor of Middle Eastern Studies and History, Zachary Lockman, to the program for a discussion of Zionism. Zionism is broadly understood as the movement supporting the establishment of a homeland for the Jewish people. In 1975, the United Nations General Assembly passed resolution 3379 declaring that Zionism is a form of racism. Is Zionism inherently racist? What role has Zionism played, and what role does it continue to play, in the Palestine-Israel conflict?
