IN MEMORY OF TANYA REINHART

Dear Friends,

We woke to some very, very sad news this morning. Tanya Reinhart passed away yesterday, March 17th, 2007, in New York. This is a terrible loss, yes, to all who new her, but also for anybody who has any hopes for a just peace in Palestine/Israel. Her many articles and her two books were unique in their contributions to understanding what’s going on in that troubled region.

Below we’ve posted a June 18, 2003, lecture Tanya presented at a peace conference in Tel Aviv organized by the Faculty for Israeli-Palestinian Peace. You can also hear an interview with Tanya, posted further down on this webpage, discussing the removal of the Israeli settlements from Gaza in the summer of 2005.

We send our condolences to Tanya’s family and friends.

In sadness,

William Seaman
